dc.description.abstract The Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare is established under standing orders 187 and 218 (3) of the Senate Standing Orders. The Committee is mandated to consider all matters related to: manpower and human resources planning, pension, gender, culture and social welfare, youth, National Youth Service, children’s welfare; national heritage, betting, lotteries and sports, public entertainment, public amenities and recreation. In executing its mandate, the Committee oversees the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection; the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs; and the Ministry of Sports Culture and the Arts. The membership of the Committee includes - 1) Sen. Sakaja Johnson Arthur, CBS, MP - Chairperson 2) Sen. Mwaruma Johnes, MP - Vice Chairperson 3) Sen. Madzayo Stewart Mwachiru, CBS, MP -Member 4) Sen.
