The Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) bill 2019, National Assembly bill no.53, on amendment to article 97 of the Constitution underwent first reading on 7th August 2019. There after, the bill was committed to the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal affairs to review and report to the house pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Orders 216(5c).
